The Smalltown Giants are led by 'Polo', on vocals. Where did he get the name from ? Who knows ? - he ain't tellin' ! Anyway it stuck so that's what we call him. You can tell when he gets hold of the mike that he is a big-time Elvis fan with a passion for his early 'Sun' sound.

On lead guitar we have the larger-than-life Mark - with an even larger-than-life guitar sound. Thanks in no small part to his insistence on using the 'right' equipment and listening to the 'right' people - Grady Martin, Scotty Moore, etc., there's no mistaking where this cat's coming from.

Slapping the bass like he's trying to bust it is Charlie - on the 'bull fiddle'. Responsible for the deep bottom-end to the band's big-beat sound means he's always kept busy.

Holding the reins behind all this is another Mark - only this one is beatin' the skins. Keeping a beat tighter than Betty Page's sweater, and yet still able to cut loose when it counts, Mark's drumming style is strictly from the old school - where only the snare mattered !

The Small Town Giants have now been together for seven years, having now played at the Hemsby Rock n Roll Weekend, and interest being shown by record labels things things are hotting up for the 'Giants'.

We play a mixture of original songs and cover versions of Rockabilly and Rock n Roll songs.

Our influences are Johnny Burnett and the Rock n Roll Trio (with Grady Martin of course), Johnny Horton, Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps, the Sun Rockabilly sound, and of course the King, Elvis.

At the moment we are putting together a demo so hopefully soon I may be able to put a song here for you to download and hear.
